The library staff and board have been following the recommendations of the state and local health departments plus our state and regional library systems during this time.
While we are aware that the lifting of the Stay At Home order does allow libraries to reopen tomorrow, May 4th, this does not mean that they have to. There are many factors to consider and we are making sure that the health and safety of our staff and patrons is our top priority.
We are updating the public to inform you that Belle Plaine Public Library will remain closed until its plan for reopening has been reviewed and approved by the library board and Sumner County Health Department. We are working to put procedures in place for a gradual reopening of services as soon as we are able.
Our digital services are available 24/7 as always and we encourage you to use those as much as you wish. Click on the Digital Resources tab above for more information. Any physical materials that you still have will not be due until we post a date when we can accept them.
